Company groups can be used to administer company security for large groups of users. The groups are configured in Company Group Maintenance, and users can be assigned to company groups on the User Workbench. There is also the Sync User Companies with Company Groups report, which can be run after updating the list of companies attached to a company group to update the company list for all users assigned to that group.

Creating a Company Group

  1. Open System > Setup > Company Setup > Company Group Maintenance and click Add.

  2. Select companies from the Available list and click > to add them to the group. To remove a company from the group, select it in the Selected list and click <. Click >> or << to add or remove all companies, respectively.

  3. Click Save.

Adding Users to a Company Group

  1. Open System > User Maintenance > User Workbench and open the user record for the user you wish to add to a company group.

  2. Enter the group you wish to assign to the user in the Company Groups field under the Details tab. To add the user to multiple groups, enter the groups in a comma-separated list.

  3. Click Save.

Sync User Companies with Company Groups

When you add or remove companies from an existing company group, the users assigned to that group will not automatically be updated with the new company list. There is a report that must be run to sync the user companies with the updated company group.

  1. Open System > User Maintenance > Reports > Sync User Companies with Company Groups.

  2. In the Main tab, enter the users you wish to sync. To sync all users associated with a company group, enter an asterisk (*) in the Matches field.

  3. Click Next to run the report.
