Accrual Plans in Coins ERP+ Human Resources have a Maximum Accrual Amount for a year. This yearly maximum accrual is determined by a start and end date time period; the start and end dates are created by users and can correspond to certain companies and/or payroll frequencies. The Maximum Accrual Amount field is available on Accrual Plan Rate records and is only used for Rate Per Hour Plans.

The information concerning Yearly Maximum Accrual Amounts is relevant to the US, Canadian, and Australian regions.

Benefit Plan Details

When Rate per Hour is selected from the Accrual Method field in Human Resources > Accrual Plans Workbench > Details tab, the Yearly Maximum Accrual Plan field is enabled, as shown in Rate Per Hour Accrual Method. This field controls whether the Accrual Plan stops employees from accruing hours once they have reached a certain number of accrued hours for a given date range.

NOTE:

The Accrued Hours cannot exceed the Yearly Maximum Accrual Hours for that plan rate.

Field Definitions

Year

The Payroll year to be used for the Plan.

Start Date
End Date

The range of the start and end dates that can be set up for different Companies and Payroll Frequencies. When calculating the current accrued amount, the calculation uses the most applicable Plan Year’s Start/End Date record.

Company

This is the company number for which the accrual period applies; enter 0 or blank to indicate all companies.

Payroll Frequency

This can be either an acceptable Payroll Frequency or left blank. The calculation first finds the Company, then the Payroll Frequency. For example, if there are two Plan Date ranges found for an employee in Weekly Payroll and Company 20, as shown below, Plan Date range #2 is used.

  1. Company 0, Weekly Payroll Frequency

  2. Company 20, blank Payroll Frequency

Timecards

Changes to accruals in a Rate Per Hour Plan are created as Timecards are entered, transferred, or converted to a Regular or Adjusting Period. Entry of timecards to a future period will not create accruals.
